Patuxai – Vientiane, Laos

Patuxai, also known as Victory Monument or Gate of Triumph, stands at center of Vientiane as a memorial for those who fought for Laotian independence from France. Although closely resembling the Arch of Triumph in Paris, Patuxai is adorned with Laotian stone carvings and golden Buddhist Kanara figures. The structure has seven levels, including a two-floor trinket market and three observation decks. With a 360-degree view, the desks provide one of the best vantage points to admire the capital.
